Greek Oxymel
The ancient Greeks used a substance called “oxymel” to dissolve painful calcium deposits in the body. To make oxymel, mix equal amounts of apple cider vinegar and pure honey. Add one tablespoon of this mix to a glass of water and have 2-3 times daily to bring relief to your arthritis over time.

Potato Wonder
An old European arthritis remedy required drinking potato juice water on an empty stomach each morning. Peel a fresh organically grown potato and mix thoroughly in a juicer or blender with 8 oz of distilled water. Strain and drink the juice daily before breakfast for gradual arthritic relief.

Everyday Remedies

  • Common foods like asparagus, garlic and onions contain sulfur compounds which can help the body repair damaged tissue throughout the body, including the joints.
  • Vitamin C is known to help ease inflammation in the joints and arthritic pain. Besides taking supplements, you can also get plenty of vitamin C from eating fruits and vegetables such as citrus fruits, broccoli and peppers.
  • Eat good fatty acids such as gamma linolenic acid to fight swelling in the joints. You can find this fatty acid in oils, nuts and fish. Try eating fish like mackerel, tuna, salmon and sardines, twice a week.
  • Take cayenne capsules available at health food stores. Cayenne contains a substance called capsaicin which blocks chemicals in the body that transmit pain signals to the brain.
  • Alternate using cold packs or ice cubes (or a bag of frozen peas or corn) wrapped in a towel and apply for half an hour to your aching joint. Follow that with a hot towel or heating pad for another half hour. Alternate between hot and cold in this way until your feel relief from your arthritic pain.
